At the top of their food-chain, Ravens are one of the most successful animals on the planet. They live on every continent except Antarctica and South America, with a range extending from the Arctic cold, to the desert heat of North Africa.
In the winter I watch the weather like a hawk. A reference I’d never use around a Raven. Ravens are smart, with respectable memories, and would certainly hold a grudge. Never refer to them as Crows, either. That would be an insult that won’t go over well. During and after heavy snowfall is my go-time. The contrast of the black birds in a white environment is stunning. Without snow, a dense forest background makes it hard to tell the bird from the trees.
